The Science Channel unveiled its new season of Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman on Wednesday, June 4, 2014. The popular show’s fifth season will offer eight episodes, researching answers to topics ranging from “Is Poverty Genetic?” to “Is a Zombie Apocalypse Possible?” The thought-provoking show has busted ratings records for the network and also garnered an Emmy-nod.

The tragedy of the space shuttle Challenger exploding after launch in 1986 was the topic of a recent Science Channel movie aptly called The Challenger Disaster. But the real tragedy, as the movie and recent science articles depict, was the bureaucratic gridlock that almost prevented the true cause of the malfunction from being discovered.
